i want to get this 2g head off ebay that is local but most of the combustion chambers have this horrible bubbling to them that i assume is molten aluminum from knock. i was going to have the head taken to a machine shop and worked over anyway if i got it. should i ever bother with this head or is the pitting way too bad to even bother with? my engine is 9:1 so any unnecessary cause of knock would be a concern of mine.

hard to tell if that is from knock or not,
some heads get a buildup of a crusty carbon from being rich.

if it is pre det alun, I would avoid the head due to the casting being thin in that area, water may seep thu the casting

i think i'll avoid it. it's better to just pay a little more for a head that i know won't have flaws, than to get a head that may end up being scrap in the end.

because it is my daily driver and my head is warped a little more than 1/16" at the exhaust flange. throwing off my fuel trims and giving me crappy mileage. i drive 100 miles a day. i was lookin' for something that needed work because it will need to be modded to fit anyway.
