So I have blown suspension. Already decided on KYB AGX struts. But cant decide between Megan 2" drop springs or Ksport 2" drop srings. Any opinions? Has anyone used ether brand springs? Not the coilover systems or sleeves these comanys offer. Just the lowering springs. Thanks in advance.

he seems to be quite an informative guy. he was before my time with DSM's. im not one to knock him! I started reading his stuff and was like wow this is in-depth

yes, i wish someone would.

so, OP....where are you at with all of this? (cause we all know how much of a brawl DSM susp. threads turn into LOL :D)

I have no idea what you're talking about. :) As long as no-one jumps in and posts that he loves his cruddy K-sport coilovers on his 1G in a thread that was supposed to be about springs on 2Gs, especially as long as that isn't the person's first ever post, then I can't imagine me dropping my new sweetness-incarnate persona.

ps. is anyone else having the problem of the 26th post in every thread being invisible? weird.

I got megan springs on stock new struts work just fine.Only payed $100 new on punishement racing website.

to be honest, you are scaring me with the 2nd personality

26th? i have ADD, i missed it.:rocks:

i knew it was for the springs. just was says the coilovers ride nice. my car is just a beater trying to just learn the basics of the car and my suspension was really bad.

After just three posts, I can see that you and are going to be great friends. Given that you're sort-of halfway between Iowa and Hawaii, can my other best friend and I have a party at your place?

Im not friends with you but I live in Mn which is pretty much Iowa, kinda wanna go party in Cali with you and OP. Kinda like a 2G and 1G have the same suspention geometry. You know?

i think PA is about an hour from Iowa. maybe I can drive up and buy/install someones spare 1g suspension during the party/garage day. I heard 1g's track better so I want that setup on my car.

Not sure if you have decided or not, but if there is any consolation, I have Illuminas in my DD Honda and have rode in several hondas with AGX struts. They are both very close in quality and performance. I chose the Illuminas due to being a tad big cheaper which enabled me to get some bushings.

As far as DSM's, I have a friend that owns a 1G with the Megan Racing Coilover kit, it rides rough at times but handles nicely. And a co-worker has a 2G with Illuminas and Eibach springs, rides WONDERFULLY, and it sits damn near on the ground.

As far as K-sports go, Ive only seen then used on a del sol to sit it next to on the ground. Rode awful, bouncy. Other than that I cannot really comment on them.

Hope this helps.

The Megan coilovers are amazing. The adjustable dampers are great for a year round driver with different tires. I raise my GSX up about 1.5" in the winter so it doesn't act like a snow plow, lower the dampener settings, and away I go. Relower and tighten her up in the summer.

You'll love them!

Also, 2 winters so far, no oil, and all the threads are still perfect. No RUST!!!! Yes, I live in Ontario where the cities eat, breath, and sh!t salt all winter long.

+2 Megan!

i do my own alignments with 2 jackstands, kite string and a tape measure. go lip to lip and make sure they are even and thats 0deg toe. if you know distances from f & r wheels to setup the string for measuring it rivals most machines for adjusting toe. camber can be done with a simple angle finder. Got my slammed/tucking focus' tire wear completely under control, as well as a nice straight driving line. for slammed/lowered cars you want to aim for 0deg toe.

just food for thought. I paid pep boys to do an alignment on my talon and it pulled to the right after that. i'm not doing that again. Only thing that's adjustable from the factory is front toe for tracking. I'll take care of that.

OH, one more thing....I drove a slammed EVO on megans and it felt decent. didnt do corner work, but the stance was awesome and it wasnt a total shit ride of anything. I keep hearing for the price that megans will hold up a decent amount of time. just throwing it out there.

Megans are great and cheap. A lot of locals use them and they ride great.

My wife's '97 GST has been on Sportlines and AGXs for ~80,000 miles and those struts have been awful from day one. The car is soft and "wallowy" over big bumps on the firmest setting. I would never ever recommend them.

I don't like AGXs, either, but they have enough damping to control Sportlines when turned up. Sounds like they've been blown from Day 1.
