So I ordered my DP Megan Racing 3" Cat delete, So come to know it won't directly bolt on! :ohdamn: The flange that meets to my cat back is way bigger, so I called a exhaust shop here in town and asked them if they could maybe mod my exhaust and cut the small flange off and weld a 3" flange they said sure NP!!! But heres my ? should I mod the DP and just get a smaller flange or mod my exhaust? The reason I'm asking is because my catback fits my stock cat and DP, so for smog reason I want to keep my exhaust the way it is just incase I have to put my cat and stock DP back on for smog. Will it hurt my DP if it's 3" and the flange goes back to the stock 2.3? thanks guys! - Ryann :talon:

I had the same issue with mounting my Megan DP to my Thermal R&D exhaust.

I went to CarQuest, bought a 2.5" flange and a 3" id to 2.5" id adapter. Weld the flange on to the 2.5 side of the adapter and there you go.

Measure it out and cut the flange off the downpipe, leaving it long enough that the adapter fits over the dp. Bolt the new adapter to the exhaust, then finally use a 3" muffler clamp on the slip joint on the downpipe where the adapter mounts.

$10 in parts and mine doesn't leak a bit.

Shouldn't cost you more than $30 either. Don't get ripped off on the welding. Granted this price can fluctuate a bit, but not that far.

Can you take a picture of it. Cause I'm in the same boat. I thought if the megan dp should fit the stocker, why doesn't it fit the hks?

I haven't received my DP yet. I found out after I ordered it because I called extrempsi to get a tracking # and I happen to ask if it would bold right up and they said no. The wholes and everything line up, the problem is the DP flange is a 3" and my HKS Flange is same size as stock which is a 2.3" or 2.5". :talon:

I had 2 separate issues.

#1- The flanges were about 30 degrees off clockwise between the exhaust and the dp, so there was no way to bolt it up. The bolt holes on the 2.5 flange on my Thermal exhaust were spaced too close to work with the 3" dp flange too.

#2- The dp flange was so much bigger than the exhaust flange that even if I made the bolts somehow work, there would be almost no sealing surface for the gasket.

My fix addressed both of those issues. I'd love to go out and take a pic for you guys, but its snowing like a s.o.b. out there and I park outside.

Well I just checked my package and it's suppoes to be here thursday:hellyeah: that's quick!!! Ill let you guys know how it goes and take pics! keep you guys posted! - Ryann :talon:

The weather is finally nice enough to go out and lay in the parking lot, so here is a pic of my fix:
(ignore the rust)
