i got a DP when i bought my car and i was going to put it on this weekend and it is a megan and it starts at 2.5 inches and ends with 3, i have aftermarket exhaust its like "tsoob" im not sure on the spelling of that brand it was on the car when i bought it and i cant read the label anymore should this bolt right up? i got the gaskets and all. and when its on the lift it looks like it should fit

If the downpipe you bought doesnt bolt up to the exhaust thats already on the car all you will have to do to fix it is take it to an exhaust shop. Any exhaust shop will be able to piece together both parts.

Last I knew, Megan DPs didn't 'just fit' with any cat-back exhaust other than their own. The flange is at a weird angle, instead of parallel to the ground like most other exhaustmakers seem to do.

If you have the stock down pipe on now and where it ends your aftermarket exhaust bolts up or its bolted to your stock cat then it will definetly fit i had the megan on mine going to the stock cat before i got the bushur test pipe. Oh the problem you will have is if its the stock converter or a test pipe in place already that is smaller than 3in you will have to modifiy your test pipe or cat so it flares to 3inches and have a flange welded to it.

I just got done putting on a Megan Racing 3" down pipe and GReddy PE Cat-back exhaust on my 99 GSX. I gotta say I had a heck of a time bolting up the DP due to the DP being so wide. The nuts were actually hitting the DP welds till I shimmed it up with a lock washer. Even then there was not enough clearance for a socket to fit between the stock nuts and the DP. We had to inch it on using a short wrench... no leak as of right now but is this DP wrong or do I need special nuts whats the deal?

Other than that the DP is pretty nice piece of work.

Thanks,
BRIAN
