Mega squirt help!

Well I have inherited a project from a friend. He has put together a pretty nice 2.3 4g63 stroker motor with just about everything done to the motor that a person could do. He ended up picking up a mega squirt and he is lost with it so now the car is in my hands to try and get the engine management up and running.

I have never done any type of tuning but I have a good grasp of the concepts involved. My problem is trying to set all the initial settings for the mega squirt so we can get the car started. I'm curious if anyone has a tune they could send me for a starting point or maybe even screen shots of the settings for the spark control and such.

If need be I can get into more specific questions that I'm having problems with.

We are going to need a lot more information. What version of MS and what version of firmware. Is it setup for fuel only, or spark too. Are you using megatune, tunerstudio, or one of the other programs for connecting to the MS and tuning?

Going to need as much detail as possible.

I agree w aero. Need all info such as injectors, pump size and base pressure, ignition info, all that crap. Megasquirt is fun, but not the most intuitive simple software to learn on.

And aero is right, we have to know what squirt is even controlling.... if I had to hope, I hope you are running Msns-e on a v1 or v2 board.

It should be 1200 cc injectors. He is trying to control spark also but at this time I'm not 100% sure he has it wired correctly. It seemed like we only had control of one coil pack when we were trying to start it but I honestly don't know what settings to use in the program for it. I'll work on getting more details on the cam profile and what turbo he ended up getting. So i'll keep on getting more details.

As far as firmware and tuning program really I could use anyone that is needed as I haven't gotten anywhere yet so starting over is no big deal.

Keep working on the details. Make sure you read through the MSextra manual. It should answer a lot of your questions. There are so many variations of stuff that its hard for someone to really give you a lot of help without being there and seeing what you are working with. If you have some idea its much easier for someone to fill you in on little stuff.
