mclaren door conversion?

The 3000GT kit is on sale for $1700, it'll probably be the same for the 2G Eclipse/Talon kit whenever it comes out!

As far as it being factory, that's debatable. To the best of my knowledge, a handful of the 1Gs were converted by the company that imported them into Japan. If I could read Japanese, I might have a bit better idea though.

You are correct. There were a handful of gullwing 1gs in Japan. We will never see them here but at least someone has them.

Sorry to bring this thread from the dead (and it'll probably be locked) but i just saw a pic on one of the lambo threads and i did a little searching. Since it has been done by the factory - there has to be part numbers correct? Talk about unique. I normally don't like the door conversions of any type but this is pretty cool looking if done right.

Any more info on this?

These cars were modified at an as yet undisclosed location and then sold as new through Japanese Mitsu dealers. Japan also sold all of the other models of Eclipse throughout the years as well. At home I have a link to the Japanese 1g Eclipse brochures.

I'm sure someone knows who and how these were done, but I'm guessing they don't speak much english and god knows where they live now.

I think this is what your looking for because I was looking at it too. Unfortunately its 50 bolt on 50 weld but its hot and looks to be more easier to get into the those dumb lambo doors

That's the same link I posted above, LOL, the whole kit only weights 25 pounds, so it's not that heavy of a mod. I ordered it about a month ago and haven't got around to putting it on yet but the pics I've seen of a 2g with this kit are bad ass. But opening the doors is a pain in a parking lot with cars beside you.

P.S. Your Talon is beautiful!

Thanks actually we posted at the same time but im not too fast when it wen through I saw yours..LOL I really like that kit too but I dont really know how functional it is. You said you saw pics of it on a 2G can you put a link i would love to see them.

If I remember correctly from the Magazine I read in Japan. I think they only made 12 or so of them.
