Mazda RX7 VS. GST Eclipse

I was out tonight with my friends and we went out to the races and a Integra RSX was racing a RX7 and the RX7 lost by like 1/2 a car. I was out that night with my friends car a 97 GST with an intake, tunabe exhaust, and uper intercooler piping, any how I challenged the RSX and beat it by a car length and he took of earlier than me and jumpt ahead by 1/2 a car but I caught up and beat him. Everyone thouht I was squeezing because A month before the RX7 had beat the GST a car length and a 1/2 because the car had a boost leak but any how they challenged us for next week and I am trying to convince my friend to install my turbo xs dual stage boost controller on his car and also the 2.5 inch race cat. I am thinking of running 16 psi on the higher boost and stock boost in low boost, but I want to know how much boost would be safe to run with the mods i mentioned. We can run him withought the boost controler and I am almost sure I can beat him but just incase they do somthing to their car because they want to bet 100 dollars and we agreed, because I doubt they will do anything to their car. The funny thing is nobody thought an eclipse could be fast, they just got mad and really fast acused me of usin nos and by the way the GST has a type s blow off valve.

this is the dumbest thing i have ever heard. first of all rx-7's were like low 14 second cars bones stock (assuming you can drive the hell out of one). So how your neighbor pulled a whole second out of his ass is beyond me, 13.1 and 14.1 sound an awfull lot alike to someone not paying real close attention to the coversation being had.

Second i have a friend who owns a 93 w/ 30,000 miles. That thing doesnt even feel like it pulls all that hard on the freeway. I dont understand why you guys all think this will be such a feat to beat this car. Assuming this isnt a scam, and you are a better driver, i would say you have a pretty good chance.

If your buddy's 3rd gen RX7 does NOT pull on the highway then it is time for a compression test or a vacuum test because there is something SERIOUSLY wrong with his car RX7s are designed to be highway killers with the sequential turbo set-up.

The car had great compression when checked right before he bought it. Like i said the car doesnt FEEL like it pulls that hard. Not to say that it doesnt, it could just be the way seqeuntial turbos FEEL and maybe its really is pulling like a raped ape. I still say that if going from a stop that this race could be won because from my understanding RX-7's arent the easiest cars to launch.
