hi, just looking for some advice on how much boost i can get away with.
i have a MBC and had it run it all in to get 14psi. Now that i installed a hard UIC pipe with a greddy BOV S type it was hitting 27psi, i've been backing it off much.
right now at 17psi (what a difference!!) MODS are
3" cat back, the pipe and bov, and K&N.

so whats the highest safe psi i can run?

thanks in advance

what other mods do you have done ?

if thats the only mods you have done i would say 15psi is probably it maybe a little less

Are you driving a 1st or 2nd gen?

If those are the ONLY mods you have keep that boost turned down until you get some fuel upgrades i.e. injectors, fuel pump, AFPR; and a way of seeing whats going on with your car Air/Fuel wise. A wideband o2 sensor and a logger would be wise investments if you are going to start playing around with the boost.

You have a boost gauge already right??

Fill out your vehicle profile.

Until you have a datalogger or some way to monitor your injector duty cycle, AFR, knock, and timing, don't go over 13psi. Make sure your BOV is recirculated.

there is no safe boost but you can get away with 15psi after that your parts are going to start to ware and give away you need to get more mods

A datalogger would be the next best modification you can make. That will let you know what you need to run more boost safely.

well if you wanna run high boost you have to have a solid tune so if I were you I would invest in some injectors 255 pump fpr and dsmlink

a datalogger plugs in to the obd2 port and link is a chip u alogger will be run in your ecu and hook up to laptop if you have the cash go with dsmlink if not a data logger will be fine

I think Brent Rau runs 86psi in his eclipse... I heard that John shepherd is at 50psi
