I just ordered a evo3 b16g, 550 injectors, 190 fuel pump, and apexi s-afc II and intercooler piping w/ rs bov. What is a good psi level to run it at? my current mods are 2.5" turboback no cat, intake and filter, evo gt exhaust manifold, greddy vspec front mount, greddy profec bspec 2 boost controller, and evo o2 housing that i still need to put on.I am taking it to a good tuning shop and they are doing everything for me.

If your tuning shop is going to take care of it, they should set the boost at the highest safe level for you if you tell them to. All you have to do is drive it there.

If its going to be awhile before you can take it there and you are just itching to floor it, you are going to need a datalogger to dial in your injectors on your SAFC and tune your mid and high throttle curves. Giving a number at this point would serve very little purpose, but if you need one, I would not go over 13-15psi without making sure your timing curves are good.

Thanks for the fast reply, i am not installing the turbo they are doing everything for me, they actually make custom turbos and seem like a good place. heres the link if u ever want to check it out and see any of theyre projects they have a nice rsx with custom turbo, a srt-4 and a wrx. heres the link www.esp-tuning.com

I have mine set to 14 psi (I replaced the stock turbo when it went bad) but the turbo can produce well over that. I just don't have other supporting mods to bump it up more.

Be carefull turning up the boost on your evo3. I was only running about 14psi on my evo3 and my motor was knocking like hell. Without a logger you could be damaging your motor.

To answer your question, I would leave the boost at around 10psi-12psi if they dont tune it. It they tune it good you can get about 17-22psi on pump gas. Without some kind of timing control you wont beable to get the most out of your motor. Just remember that we have the most inconsistent cars when it comes to how much power, and boost your car can hold.
