Well as the title states, I think i may have tranny fluid leak.

When i dropped in a new motor a month ago, I noticed that one of my tranny axles seals was a little ripped up, like a little cut up. Didn't really think much of it because I didnt know how bad that could affect anything.

Well, I battled a massive oil leak at startup, fixed that.

Took the car out for a couple breakin pulls, and have been driving for a couple days now...

I pulled into a lot and looked down and saw "oil" dripping off of my front left tires lower suspension arm. The one that attaches right below where the firewall is. It was dripping off of that and a little off my oil pan...It dripped the size of a quarter.

I then took my friend home and did a couple more pulls on the way there (10 miles). I dropped my friend off at his house, backed up and drove home. Got home and I get a call from him telling me theres a Compact Disc sized oil spot on the ground...

Im like ohh shit, i probably have no oil left now because the minute I idled in his driveway it leaked a ton, just imagine the 30-40 minute drive we just took?

Well, I ran outside checked my oil and It was still 1/4 inch over the "full" line, right where it's been for 2 weeks.

Im losing no oil? I had him smell the "oil" and he took it back and said he smelt Tranny fluid, roasted peanut smell, made him sick smell.

So, how the hell is my tranny fluid leaking out by my drivers side tire?? I dont get it???

PS. I did feel the shifting getting very hard on the way home too.

Any helps appreciated.

It really doesn't matter HOW the oils getting other there it matters why. And you pretty much know the answer to that, replace the parts in bold above.

Ok, i used 2 full quarts of GM syncromesh...I hope my tranny isnt burned up now..

Thanks, I just wanted to know how the hell tranny fluid can go that far, literally no drips anywhere else underneath the car when parked, The only puddles while idling after a drive, form under the rear control arm on the "drivers" side.

Insane
