I noticed this when browsing dejon powerhouse but what will putting the MAS on the I/C pipe accomplish? Is it any better? I also noticed its a GM MAS is that the only one you can do this with or will it work with the stock one? Here is a link to the picture. Thanks

The GM MAF is nice in that it's larger, it's after the bov so you can vent if you want, and you can minorly tune you air and fuel settings with the translator. As for your stock mas working on the intercooler pipe it will not work. The stock mas will fail if it is in the intercooler pipe because what i was told is that the type of sensor it is it cannot tolerate boost or any type of forced air being pushed onto it. I had the GM MAF and translator in my old 1G and i couldn't have been more pleased but i have heard from alot of people on this site that it is a major PITA on a 2g. I'm just keeping my stock mas now until i can afford DSMLink here in a few months and go to straight speed density.

DSMlink doesnt have full speed density. 1g, 2g maf, or translator. Or VPC/link combo.

www.dsmlink.com for info.

I dont remember where I saw it but I saw someone with the GM MAF in the stock MAF location before the turbo. What would be the benefit or even the purpose of doing that instead of having it after the blow off valve.

It still makes it alot less restrictive and especially when you are over runing the stock maf, the guy probuly did not have any hard intercooler pipeing for the maft to sit on. However you cant "vent" when you have it in this location. And YOU CAN STILL TUNE with the maft translater nomater the locaton of it, in witch the main reason people get the maft setup.

I knew about the not being able to vent and that you are still able to tune the system, but it was just kind of interesting to see it in the stock location. I wasnt sure if there was enough to be gained by putting it there to justify installing it on the intake pipe instead of on the UICP.
