I have manual windows and one day i rolled them down went for a ride came back home and rolled them up. As i get out my car i notice aged tint or dirt on the window at the very bottom and quickly discovered that it was rolled too far up it looks like. I try to roll it back down and the window it self starts to teeter tot via rolling it up or down. I can't get very far with the roller until it gets jammed stuck. I believe the window may be off track or something. already got the panel off but havn't removed the window or anything, how can i get this stupid thing back on track? Do i have to remove the window? I can barely close my door because of the window intruding up

I would try to pull the window glass up by hand and then jamb a piece of cardboard in-between the glass and the run rubber. If you can't do that remove the door panel and see if you can align the glass in the track. Usually, there is two clips that hold the window to the track and sometimes the bolts work themselves loose and the window comes out of the track. Most likely that is the problem. If not you may need to replace the regulator and reinstall the window.

ok i'll try the cardboard, but i fear i may need to mess with the track and the window, now looking in the chiltons, i don't quiet under stand illustrations. Are the two bolts attaching to the window the clips you mentioned? as you already know our visibility is limited behind the door panels, think you can be anymore specific as to the aligning?

Okay, as far as I can remember there are clips that attach the glass to the track. The bolts go through the glass and hold it in place. I believe it has two clips, one for each side. When the bolts work their way loose they fall to the bottom of the door. When that happens the glass tilts because it is only being held in one place. Unfortunately, you will have to remove the panel and look to see if the bolt has fallen to the bottom, retrieve it, and put the window back in place. It is not that bad lining it up and putting in back in the track. Just take your time. There are cut outs in the door that allow you to put the bolts in and line up the glass. The problem is when the window mechanism binds and you need to replace the regulator. Just sounds like a bolt worked its way loose. Make sure you hold the glass in place because it can come crashing down inside the door. The cardboard wedge will keep it in place while you line it up. :thumb:
