420A Manual trans shifter linkage

My shifter linkage on my manual 99 Eclipse GS keeps sliding out on its linkage mount bracket that's connected to the transmission. Is there supposed to be a bushing or locknut that holds the shifter in the mount. It keeps backing out when I go to shifter and mis-aligns where the gears are.

No ive never messed with manual transmissions. I have a 01 prelude auto trans I've pulled and replaced. First time have a manual car.

You seem to be missing the clip that locks the cable into the bracket.
