Manual trans fluid capacity

Just started putting Penzoil Syncromesh into our newly re-installed transmission. The book says capacity is 2 qts and to check the level by making sure fluid is up to the threads in the fill hole. Well, we put in 3 quarts and it still isn't visible at the hole. There are no leaks. Do you think this is enough fluid?

I filled my transmission up until it started to drizzle out the side of the fill plug.

Ditto, mine held about 1.5 quarts

Is your car up on a jackstand in a angle?

Nope, flat ground weird huh.... and this is also after I had the trans out and had it resting on the bell housing so everything would leak out, got it all back in and got about 1.5q and then it started spewing out the fill hole so its full
