San Francisco,
Helllo,

I've got a 97 Eclipse Spyder GS and I'm trying to upgrade manual mirrors to power. I've already installed the mirrors on the door and connected the harness that was hidden under the door panel. I've also obtained teh 4-directional switch for the mirrors with the L-R for each side. I just can't find for the life of me the harness that I plug into that switch. Does anyone know if the harness is there but tucked away somewhere? Or do I have to get a few fuses/wires and plug it in? From what I could tell from the Dealer manual (yes I have the 3 volume dealer manual for the 97 Eclipses), it looks like the harness is part of the entire wiring bundle. Any help on locating this harness or leading me in the right direction would be GREATLY appreaciated.

Thanks kindly,
John

i already went to the junkyard and got avenger power mirrors and switch, but theres no harness in my dash. is there an add on to the factory harness or do i have to get the pig-tail and wire it up to the harnesses thats already on the doors?

flipGTO, Did you ever find out the answer to the wiring harness under the dash? I am looking for the connection also.

On my '99 RS, there was a plug behind the panel where the controller goes. Just had to plug it in. My doors weren't wired from power mirrors, but found a set for cheap online (probably eBay, its been a while). Just make sure the harness has all options your's has, plus mirrors.

Look for S&M autoparts on ebay. The owner of the company has been my resource for DSM parts for over ten years. He recently procured me sets of wiring harnesses for my 420A N/T so that I could convert from manual door everything to power door everything. The whole wiring harness came complete all I had to do was plug it into the wiring harness connector in the body of the car where it meets the door. The rubber wiring harness management needs to be pulled back and you may have to get under the dash and unscrew the wiring housing to connect them together. As long as someone hasn't molested your underdash wiring harness it should be a simple plug and play proceedure. I wasn't so lucky. My entire passenger door is dead and the power locks won't activate. But this is for an entirely different thread. Anyone who could point me to that thread I would be greatly appreciative.

On my 99' spyder, it came with power doors and windows but not locks. The interior harness isn't wired for power mirrors but the door harness was wired. I bought a used interior harness for cheap from a gst that had power mirrors and unwrapped it and took the power mirror wiring out, wrapped it up into its own harness with electrical tape and inserted the pins into the door plugs. easy

It does take a while (about 7-8hr) so if your not doing it yourself expect to pay out the ass for it.

I just was in the middle of the conversion. I found the harness for the power mirror switch under the dash. I pulled the lower part of the dash off and towards the back on the left side, I saw a lonely harness wrapped in foam just sitting. So I plugged it in to the switch. Now I have to source the door harness for power mirrors.
