manual to auto engine swap?

my question is can you swap an engine from a manual turbo eclipse to a auto turbo eclipse without any work? is it the same exact thing?

are you saying to go from manual to auto?? either way it will be costly....and if your doing it yourself its a pain in the @$$. dunno man :/

Yes they are the same. Only thing you need if taking an engine from a manual to put in an auto is the crankshaft spacer.

well i have a 91 turbo manual fwd with a bad tranny and cant find a new one and i have a 92 turbo auto awd with a bad engine. so i figured id drop the engine into the other car to make a complete car.

Just switch starter plates and remove that bearing that sits in the crank on the auto and put it i the manual engine, Its a bi*** to remove but that would be about it. I believe injector sizes are different so you might have to change as well as the turbo's.
