i am really interested in this kit and wonder if anyone has experience in this kit and/ or 2.2 stroker kit builds. also what would be a good turbo selection for this build. i was looking at 16g or 20g?

That all depends what kind of power you want as well as the characteristics. A stroker engine will spool larger turbos a bit faster than a stock stroke. A friend of mine has a 2.3 stroker and it definitely spooled a 16 g quicker than before the build. He is now running an HX35.

is there a problem with a 2.2 stroker because it seems very uncommon.. ive tried doing some research on here about it and ive only seen mostly 2.3 builds.

That's because the 2.2 is more expensive and usually reserved for an all-out car. The 2.3 makes more torque in the lower rpm range, is better for daily driving, has many off-the-shelf parts and still makes big steam when needed. The 2.2 is more specialized for track use since it's so incredibly rev-happy.

Isn't the 2.2 only a DE-stroker? I wasn't aware there was an off the shelf 2.2L kit.

i really think you could get a better response if we knew your goals.
I am building a 2.4 right now and my goals are strictly street and autox racing so I will be going with a fast spooling turbo (i.e. Evo3 16g), Evo3 intake, and 264 cams, 3" exhaust, etc.
Will you be drag racing often or mostly street? Are you looking for 0-60 street power grunt or high-speed?

this kit is for 4g63 7-bolt. wouldnt this kit be better then a 2.0 stroker? why wouldnt people have more of these builds. are they more diffcult to build or somthing?

They give up displacement for rpm. That's it.

It's a great setup, but what do you think makes it more attractive than a cheaper and more streetable setup that makes more low and midrange power? If you don't plan on revving to 9500 frequently, why give up displacement and pay more for it?

Do you have a dogbox or a built auto? What about valvetrain? Will your car be on a track pretty often?

A 2.3L stroker and a decent sized turbo is FUN. Just ask Charlie...

Also FYI, any variation of a 4G63 that displaces 2.0L is not a stroker.

Agreed. We'll have to go for a ride some day Delta :thumb:

I'm in Morgantown 3 days a week, right now too... but I'm about to head for the Star City I-79N on ramp and get my tired butt home. Sometime soon though...

Nice. Ricky going to tune it Thursday night and I can't wait. I still need to do the rear pinion seal and I think the hard line to my OFH is leaking so I'll need to replace that. Deciding whether or not to go with a forward facing or not.

well i have a gst so i figured a 2.3 would be more torque which will be less traction. its going to be mostly street use with few track runs evey year. i was planning on a 16g or 20g maybe

I just noticed you are FWD.. Every one of us who responded are AWD and speaking for myself, I don't really consider traction into my thought process any more.
Personally, I would not spend the money for a stroker setup on a fwd car. I would want smooth power and as much rpm as would be practical for a mostly street driven car. Forged pistons/rods are $$$. From your description of your goals, a stock bottom end will work fine.
I don't know if your profile is up to date but I would suggest mod's that favor higher rpm such as valve springs, 272 cams, 1G throttle body, etc.
