Im going to try and make my own heatshield at work. I have all the material I could ever want and all the equipment to do it with. Problem is that im not sure on the dimensions of it. Is there a pattern that anyone knows of? Im thinking of just taking my exhaust mani in and going off of that. Anyone ever make one or have any input? Thanks.

hey,
I recently made one for mine from a drawing that greenmachine97 sent me like 2 yrs ago, but any way, I will give you the pic that he sent me, but it is missing one measurement, the offset for the peice facing the radiator, you will see on the pic what im talking about, it really just takes trial and error to get it right as far as that, without measuring....

hope that helps with most of the measurements...

Any idea how beneficial a heat shield would be in helping under hood temps. If it is helpful, would it be better to have one from the top and then extend down the sides aroud the turbo sort of like a box??

Thats what I did, made it out of old ducting. It lowered the under hood temps for shorter drives, but where it really shown through was extending the life of my alternator.
