Making a boost controler??

Ive heard talk of making a boost controler from simple parts from a hardware store. Can some1 please explain to me how this is possible? And how to do it?

yes a lot of people make there on boost controllers, u just go to the hardware store and there is like 3 fittings u can buy for like $2 to make one, only problem is, that it may be better than stock, but u almost always get boost creep from the home made ones

Wondering why you get boost creap on the DIY versions? Anyone know? Since I am new to this I don't want to add more issues to my car while I am learning to mod.

A home-made MBC has nothing to do with boost creep. However, if you use too much vacuum hose with it, you will get bad boost spike. This can be solved by simply using less/shorter hose for the MBC.

Not true, boost creep has to do with wastegate flow. Anyways, I have full 3" exhaust w/ no cat and I don't get any creep so i'm pretty sure they work fine.

Thanks for the info guys. I think I will try the DIY way to start. I will make sure the hose lengths are as short as possible to minimize any issues.

I'm not going to install this yet as I still need to get my boost gauge and such in place. Just getting the projects lined up.

Has anyone used this boost controller. Does it stay the correct boost or does the spring wear out?
