major wastegate problems!!!!!!!!!!!!help!!!

OK ill start by saying my car is boosting at 2000rpms when im just revving the engine!!!. i checked my waste gate actuator with my air compressor and it opens halfway at 10-12 lbs of boost so does that mean it is still good.? it is an internal waste gate actuator on a garret evo3 16g turbo... what are some signs that the actuator is not opening the waste gate????

one sign is alot of boost. What gauge are going off of?

im going off of a 90 dollar carbon fiber gauge. but you can just here it under the hood when your revving it from under the hood...

There's no way it could be boosting in neutral with that turbo at that low of an rpm.

well it is boosting that crazy bro... the actuator is not opening the waste gate at all so what do i do??? i have a used actuator on the way but what if that does not fix it then what do i do???

if you're sitting in your car, with it in neutral, and you rev the engine, does it actually build pressure? if you can build boost without load theres something else going on here.

It is possible to boost some at 2k. How much are you talking?

it is possible under load not with the transmission in neutral. you can't build boost at 2k without load. not on a 16g for damn sure.
