So i recently replace a head gasket on my 95 eagle talon. I went with cometic and arp head studs. Im running a cx racing 20g turbo with a h type blow off with a small spring. I have a external blow off running a 20 pound spring. I have 680 cc injectors. A bbk 62mm throttle body, and a aftermarket fuel pump along with a fuel regulator. It was running amazing before i had to change the head gasket. Now that i have replaced the head gasket i have a severe issue with 3 gear, 4gear and my rpm's and knock. So its odd my car still pulls strong in 1st gear along with second gear however when i hit 3rd gear my car will pull until it hits 5k rpms then i lose all power and my knock deg jumps to 12 and my timing goes to -7 deg. I have a log of this and everything. 4th gear will do this occasionally but then 5th seems to be fine as well. Im totally at a lose when it comes to adjusting my timing but i do have ecm link. Please any help on this issue would be greatly appreciated im totally stumped why it only happens during that period of gears.

Had the same type of issue wit my 1g boost leaks.. do the check list and search a little....

Step1. Boost leak test.. if running 20 psi ck at 25-30psi.

Step 2. Ckeck base timming... make sure your timming belt is set to spec and has correct tention...

Step 3. Ckeck static timing. (1g is 5*. Not 100% on shat a wg should be.)

Step 4. Check all sensors. ( mainly timming related cas..1g or cam sensor and crank sensor in 2g.

Step 5. Look at logs closely if all is in line then you have a problem your not seeing which most likely is mechanical. Aka timming or boost leak.

Step 6. Repeat steps 1-5

Step 7 ask for help on fourms.

You haven't said anything about checking the obvious. I've learned to research your problem well and try what others have before asking for helps get more responces. Ppl get tired of repeating them selves.

I had the same issue sortive. I did every thing I just listed on the second time around I found the issues.. sometimes it takes a second look or a second opinion or even a fresh setbof eyes go identify an issue...

Do the check list I provided if all checks out try posting again and mention you have done all the basics of a piliminary tests and checks.

Good luck.

P.S. if you did a head gasket and dint surface it or have a valve job done you may have internal issues.... please state what all wad done with head gasket replacment remember to mention everything that transpired to where you are now as well. (If head was properly done. Meaning pressure check valve job surface ne seals and such and of corse a good cleaning the hg shouldn't be an issue)

But if it's stock and you bought a thick mls you could have messed with the compression ratios a bit. Butni doubt enough to cause any issue.

Also are you simulating your o2?
You did not log wideband... or boost...
your maf comp jumps dramatically
Your injector compensation is way wrong, if you are running 680's they are ~51% larger than stock and you have them at 29.7%
Get the injectors dialed in, then do a MAFComp adjust.
I recommend that you watch the ecmlink videos, it will help you get a better grasp on things.

As laser shark said u have to compensate for the injectors. Im assuming you have a wideband if u have dsmlink bigger injectors and a bigger turbo. What are your afr readings? Knock can be caused by a lean condition or high egts. Also... My knock sensor was slightly loose showing 17 kcts at 3k rpm. maybe give the sensor a once over make sure there is no goo leaking out of it either.
