Hi, i just recently bought a 99 eclipse GS-T and am entering the DSM stage of my life. When i first got it it worked fine and was plenty fast but now when i flore it, i get boost untill the boost gauge goes up and when its almost to the top my car starts shaking and it feels like its slowing down, im new to DSM's so at first i thought it wasnt getting enough fuel and i needed new injectors and a new fuel pump but then i was asking around and some people checked out my side mount intercooler and there is oil all over the upper pipe of the intercooler and they all say its a boost leak. Can i get some advice from you guys to tell me what it is and if it is a boost leak, how can i fix it and are there any other sites i can go to learn about eclipse's i want to learn as much as possible about DSM's I thank you guys for any input at all,
Thanx

Are you going by the stock boost gauge? If so really look into getting an aftermarket gauge as they are MUCH more accurate. If you have oil on the outside of the pipes then yes you do have a leak. Check out this link ... http://vfaq.com/mods/ICtester.html and do a test to see what all you find. It does take more than a new fuel pump and injectors to add more boost. First get yourself an aftermarket boost gauge and do the boost leak test. Find all points where you are leaking and get them sealed up. If there is visible oil on the pipes I would suggest you pull your intercooler off and clean it out as well. Here is another write up on it ... http://vfaq.com/mods/wayback/BradBauer/misc/cooler.html .

The first thing that needs to be done is all the routine maintenance. How many miles does the car have? Just check it over and make it sound first. Be sure to keep your vehicle profile up to date if you do mod anything. Welcome to the forums and have fun playing with the DSM.
