OK so my main ground the one that goes to the battery post . The body ground that goes to the firewall is attached . But yesterday I was trying to find out why my car got no poweer and traced my positive cable down towards my starter and found out the negative cable that goes down with the positive was just hanging there ,unconnected . Can someone explain to me where it goes and the easiest way to get to it ?

ok so it doesnt have to be grounded to the block ? cause I heard it originally came from the block

also i think its the negative cable to the starter

The main ground attaches to the starter bolt where it bolts to the bellhousing. The body ground attaches to the firewall.

The block is grounded to the chassis through all the various bolts holding it in place. Also there are smaller groundig wires that go from the firewall to the intake manifold. It's really up to you how you want toground your car. Id go with what's easiest to work with. I have two cables, one from the battery to the frame and one from the battery to the transmission. When I move the battery to the trunk I'll just have a cable from the battery to the frame.

ok well it being originally attached to the starter bolt does it matter if i attach it anywhere I want or does it have to be on the starter bolt ?

i really wanna get my car runniong LOL

The engine has to be grounded to the battery, or with a bigger gauge wire to the body. The engine isn't grounded thru the mounts, they are all rubber insulated. You will get a very bad ground thru the small diameter wire from the intake to the manifold, and the engine won't turn over.

well right now i just have that one loose wire and i was told it goes t othe block / starter . Could I just ground it anywhere on the engine ?

Just remove one of the starter mount bolts, slide it thru the wire, bolt it back to the starter and be done.

any suggestions to reach it cause last time i changed my starter it was a bi*** at this point i bolted it to the throttle body i went to put the battery in and acid came out and dripped on my head .. it sucked LOL but i cant easily reach my starter

Why can't you reach your starter? Just remove the upper intercooler pipe and you can get to it easily. There is nothing about it that is a bi*** or hard.

to be honest with you i don't know its just an awkward angle for me i have alot of hoses and shit in my way and i have short arms LOL

ill try after i take my battery back ... ####ing leaking acid n shit

Just take the upper interooler pipe off and it is right there.

well nothing happened with it bolted to the TB ... my car gets NO power what so ever like no lights nothing . I replaced my positive cables from fusebox to post and negative post to firewall all fuses are still in tact the alt was bench tested and it was fine . That ground cable was not on anything when i found it ... so i dont know why it wont get ANY power

would it not being grounded to my starter or block would it keep it from getting any power at all ? even if grounded to the TB ?

yup rand new bat and yes throttle body

checked the battery in another car and it works so its not the battery

So you have a ground wire to the engine and one to the firewall? Verify that the ground on the firewall has a good connection. You also have the positive wire from the battery to the starter, and from the battery to the fuse box?
