Main bearing radial scratch, possibly from new Manley crank?

Hey guys,

building my motor and got ACL Race bearings for it. I installed my crank and removed it again to check some stuff and found my bearings to have scratches on them. What I think it may be from is the oil journal on the crank. If I run my nail down it it catches on the corner of journal as if it's not totally flush. This is a brand spanking new crankshaft from Extreme PSI, never been run/cut etc.

Is this normal? Any insight at all? Crank turned great while installed and torqued and I can't noticeably catch my nail on the scratches. Rod bearings are totally fine yet I can do the same thing with my nail on them. Clevite assembly lube used and clearances are within spec.

Thanks.

Yep, Looks like some particles made there way onto the bearings or the crankshaft during assembly.

When you say you run your nail down the crank journal and it is not flush what do you mean? I think you are mistaking the Fillet Radii for a defect in the crankshaft.

As in where the oil holes are in the crank if I run my nail around the journal when I get to edge of the oil holes, there is a lip protruding them. I attached a quick photo of a cross section below. Imagine the box in the center is the oil passageway and the circle is the crankshaft if you were looking through it from snout to end. I also attached a video, excuse my horrid camera work, I was watching my finger instead of the screen haha. Also excuse the gentlemen at the end haha, not sure what he was doing, but you can see my nail catching on it.

Each bearing the marking exactly where the edge of the oil hole is.

Either way, I took it to the machine shop today and they said the same thing and are chamfering the holes properly and giving it a thorough cleaning, new bearings are on order and I contacted Manley Performance for there take on, which after a couple e-mails they recommended to take it to the local machine shop and see what they said. They offered to polish the crank and de burr the holes themselves but shipping costs to and from the USA from my location would be horrible. So far there customer service has been great though, good on them. I'll update with what ends up happening as well.
Thanks for your replies guys. Appreciate it.
