Magnaflow Cat 23243 - anyone have one?

Soooo... Hazel's cat took a dump today. Bogging down, threw a P0420, terrible mpgs, and generally not a happy car.

I am stock except for 1g bov and K&N fipk. Had planned on putting exhaust on it in the spring, giving me plenty of time to agonize over what I want...

Has anyone used this cat? Comments? I want to keep a cat, but I'm not ready for full exhaust just yet. Seem like a step in the right direction? Hmmmm...

Ye any cat will work, as long as everything lines up, but if it doesn't, then do some cutting, welding, fabricating and it will work. Im using a universal CAT myself.

Its a 2.25" cat so you probably wont be able to use it when you get a new exhaust

His post does not say anything about a quick fix or something just for now. He is asking if its a step in the right direction, paying almost $200 for a cat for temporary use or a quick fix is not a step in the right direction. Putting the money towards something that can be used with a new exhaust later would be a step in the right direction. A quick fix for now would be to find a cheap used one.

Where did you find a cat that sells for $200... I bought my magnaflow 3" hi floe cat for $65 bramf

It sounds like a quick fix because he wants a full exhaust in Spring anyways.. And I don't know where you find $200 cats, I bought my 3" hi flow magnaflow cat for $65 new... There not that expensive as everybody thinks. My tip for him would of been to forget the cat, throw a straight pipe in there and then spend the money when he figures out what to do.

That's what I would do too , that's why I said it was not a good idea to spend a bunch of $$ on a 2.25" cat, but Its a 3yr old thread anyway so I am sure the op figured out something by now
