1G MAFT Woes

So my car was fine and suddenly started throwing maf code 12 (I have maft2.0) so naturally i swap out to a known good maf I have as a spare. Same problem, cel illuminated and running like crap.

I have swapped ecu, I have totally rewired the maft box, and I have swapped out my fp relay as well. The key on lights on the maft only come on one time. If I turn the key they illuminate, if I turn it off and then on again they do not illuminate and will not until the key is removed for about ten seconds then the mpi relay clicks and simultaneously the red led (on the maft box) illuminates for a second. After all that then and only then will the key on leds illuminate.

During this whole time I have a maf code (12) present.the maft red led will blink each time a knob is turned as it should. I have no idea whats going on here. I have a 94 chassis with 90 harness and 92 ecu with pins 6/14 swapped.

I'm beginning to think its either some wiring issue or the maft box itself... any help would be greatly appreciated...

Sounds like the box is the problem I ran the maft for a bit, hated it.

Something is losing ground connection, or a ground fault issue.

Buy a multimeter and check for continuity from ecu to sensor plug.

I have a multimeter already. I will do some probing and see what I can come up with. Im also thinking of replacing the entire wire harness altogether. It is a 90 harness in a 94 chassis. The wiring is VERY bad from the previous owners "modding" it. Thanks for the replies guys.

I just removed the dash, the, harness, and ecm. It is a 90 harness and ecu upon further identification. The dash harness appears to have some issues in its install. I am going to put a 91-94 harness conversion in it. I will swap out the sensors and bits that are different between the years. I am also installing an ecu I have with a ecmlink chip in it. I am going MAKE this car do what its told.
