I have a 1990 eagle talon tsi awd. I just ordered a maft and gm maf. Is is nessary to have a egk broadband gauge and an air fuel ratio gauge to tune the car. I am using a 16g with a safc and 650 injectors. :talon:

No, EGT and A/F gauges are not necessary, they are usefull, but only absolutely necessary with a very high horsepower car.

Installation is one wire for RPM, the rest is plug and play (with a little finess).
You need some type of datalogger to tell what's going on, and even though a WBO2 is the only real way to tell what your WOT AFR is.
An EGT gauge is worthless for tuning IMHO. Your exhaust gases can run hot if you're too lean and you're too rich.
An AFR gauge is not a true indication of your cars fuel trims.
For the money you would spend on those gauges through in another 100 and get a WB, you won't regret it.
