MAF Translator / Poor Idle / Poping Sound

Hey guys. im trying to get my car working, im hopeing someone can enlighten me before i get :mad:

OK... So, MY car idels @ 850RPM, It jumps up and down a bit - Lets say 750'ish to 900.. Every Few seconds (4-5) There will be a odd pop comming from my aftermarket exhuast.. Not Terabliy loud.. When i put my car into reverse, it wants to stall out, (5spd) same with 1st gear.. My exhuast smells very rich.. Another thing.. I got a MAF TRANSLATOR, i dont know how to tune with it.. Thers a dipswitch with 1 2 3 4 on it.. #1 is only on..
then theres 4 knobs.. They are all set to A ( i think they are lettered) haha.. So the groove is like U U U U on all of em.. that right? Heres my list of mods:
6 bolt engine swap
Maf - T Blowthrough set up
2.5" mandral bent Hard piping on intercooler right to throttle body
Upgraded intercooler (from 2jz twin turbo supra)
RPS 2500 turbo clutch
2.5" crush bent turbo back Exhaust
N1 Apexi muffler
225/50/r16 probe rims
Metalic Hawk Pads on front
Brembo slotted and cross drilled rotors (all four corners)
Gauges - Phantom style Autometer Boost (-30 to +20 psi)
- Phantom style Autometer A/F (not currently hooked up) only need to tap into o2 sensor
Pollution controll vaccum lines have been removed
255L Fuel Pump..

HELP PLEASE!!!!!

Well, there's your problem. You cant just slap a tuning tool in your car and leave it untouched and expect the car to run fine..... You really should learn how to use it before you install it. What DSM are you talking about (1G, 2G, etc...)? What size of injectors are you using?
 
93 TSI FWD.... i didnt slap it in, i bought the car with it in there.. :\ no maual for it, soo.. :(

The rough idle and popping is cause by the poor tune. As soon ss you get your hands on the instructions, you will see how user friendly the MAFT really is. And once you get all your settings correct, your idle should smooth out and the car should perform just fine. Just having the AUX and BASE for the injectors set correctly, will make a huge difference. :thumb:
