do i really need maf-t with dsmlinks, and what are improvemnts
thank you

The Maf-t will allow you to vent you BOV and flows better than a 2g mas. The rest of the stuff a MAF-t will do will be taken care of through the dsmlink.

If you are running a blow through set up you are eithe rdoing to vent your BOV or because you are at the limits of the 2G mas. You will end up zeroing out all the settings on the translator.

The 2G MAS flows a lot more air than people give it credit for. The GM MAF does offer quite a bit of airflow potential over the 2G MAS but is a waste unless you need that capacity. It's great because it also offers a tuning tool, a crude one but it's there none the less. I suggest you go to www.dsmlink.com and read as much on it as you can. Search around here for threads on it and I'm sure any question you have can be answered. If not ask someone who has it and they can let you know.

Just because it doesn't have teh fancy display of an safc doesn't make it crude. It works very well.

Any piggyback device that alters settings by lying to the ECU about certain values is a crude tool. An AFC would also fall under this category, just because it has a fancy display doesn't make it great. There is a difference in things that work and what works well. An AFC or MAFT will get you by on mild setups with mild injectors. Find a car running 950cc injectors on a MAFT or AFC without any other fuel compensation and I'll PayPal you a dollar. :thumb:

Keep the stock MAS unless it is not able to keep up with the flow. It is a real bi*** trying to calibrate the MAF-T with DSMLink. Unless you have a wideband...

You sound like you need to do a lot of research on general automotive knowledge before you even consider modding. From your mod list I will say that you bought the car as is and don't know anything about it. http://1000q.dsm.org/ memorize that website. The go to www.howstuffworks.com and research the entire engine section. After that and I know it's been done to death but search here for answers. Every question has been asked at least once and if it hasn't then you can feel free to ask away. No one here knows what the hell you are talking about when your question is "do i really need maf-t with dsmlinks, and what are improvemnts". Improper spelling and grammar are looked down upon here, if you are intelligent enough to operate an automobile, operate a computer and find this site then you should be intelligent enough to not butcher the english language over the internet. Good luck. :thumb:

I agree with all of that. I was under the impression you were calling it crude because of how it looks. I definitely agree that piggybacks are useless with a high horsepower setup, but for your average tuner without much knowledge, they are great. I just wish I had the money/mods to need something beyond a piggyback at this point.

Well then if you know it all don't come here asking for help. Every question you asked could have been answered by reading the DSMlink website or searching here. You sound like every other n00b that logs on and wants to run 10's right away. You having a faster slip than me means absolutely nothing, other than you may have more money than me. So how about you do some reasearch before coming on here and asking asinine questions using horrible grammar, spelling and punctuation. I don't care how fast the car you bought has gone before because with you asking questions like this I can guarantee you didn't put it together yourself. Good day to you sir.
