how dsm link works, is it worth money and how much is it ,
i have evo III 16g can use that with this turbo
 
I do like the dsmlink system but I do think that with a few added functions, I would forget about the aem unit. As I said before, I would like the ebc and adaptation of the gm maf. No I don't think that this should cost more, just a new version of software. Maybe it could be an optional choice that I would be willing to spend say $150 extra for.

There is a reason that I do not like the stock mas. First off I have a 1g if you haven't noticed and you know we hate our mas. I do not want to hack it (don't ask why not I just don't). Also I know that dsmlink will allow the use of a 2g mas on my 1g but I figure if that can be done then why not a 3". Many people have asked the guys at dsmlink about this and the responce so far is that it is in the works.

I will tell you why I want the gm maf so bad.

-My plans for my car in the future will out flow any mistu mas setup. I am a firm believer of not upgrading the same part twice.

-I by chance have a new hks ssqv which does not recirculate. I need to upgrade the bov so this is an obvious choice. No I do not want to sell it and by one that recirculates.

-I want to locate the the mas as close to the throttle as possible. Contrary to popular belief there is a benefit to this. Keep in mind that my plans include a serious track/street car where little things like this matter.

-I want to make that cool swoosh sound like in that movie with those fancy cars

Realize that different people have different plans for there car so for me these things are necessary where for others they do not need them. For me the cost of dsmlink would include the maft and an ebc which would be around $500.

Oh and also don't think that you can get away with a pda on dsmlink so easy. Ask the guys and they will tell you that they did not make nor support that software.

I live on the other end of the globe.. and ordering everything across the pond..

DSM's are rare aroudn here.. (i'm constantly competing with the honda boys and the LS/LT1's)

I wanna build a solid T3/T04B setup.. (turbo is on it's way) Dyno tuning is unavailable..

it all comes down to myself, Dataloggin and tuning...

AFCII/ MAFT /POCKET LOGGER /ECU+ /DSMLINK /AEM EMS


AFC II is the only product i can get locally... the rest I'll have to order..

So I only want to go through all this trouble once..

I too have the Eprom ECU problem.. (i can't even get regular oem parts let alone an ECU for my car) it's a shame so few dsm's came with it..

SO I either have to buy AFC+MAFT+logger+palm OR ECU+DSMLINK or take the plunge with full stand alone (then pull my hair out trying to figue it out)

plus an LM1 wideband

ordering from vendors is one thing.. i'd buy from classified but i'm afraid of getting scammed... this blows :cry:

Direct MAF signal translation is on the "to do" list.
The nice thing about DSMLink is that help is extensively available and upgrades are cheap.

Not worried about the little wire restriction, just thinking of the ease of placement like the VPC unit. I do have the MAFT blow though and dream of some day having a DSMLink that connects directly to it.
