First thing first I have searched this thread and google and just got mixed results.

I have a stock 95 gst and hate running the stock maf. I have read about the gm maf and translator.

I know I need translator and gm maf couplings.

What I want to know is can I just run the maf and the translator. Only mods i am doing is big 16 front mount but it is far down the road.

Sure. All it does is move your airflow sensor.

If you plan on going with ECMlink at some point for tunning/logging, then you might want to reconsider. They have a GM MAF cable that would be used in place of the MAF-T. I would think you could run this whether or not you're running ECMlink, but I'd ask them to verify.

Why do you hate running the stock MAS? Is it because it doesn't allow you to vent?

I have owned a bouple turbo dsms in the past and they have started to fail. Makes the bay look cluttered. Plus I am upgrading all the piping anyway.

I may end up going to dsmlink I just havnt decieded yet.

ecmlink is the new version of dsmlink and now allows you to run a gm maf without purchasing the maft, I dont think the gm cable works without ecmlink though

I will have to look into it a little bit more.

Last question probably driving you all nuts but i have been out of the dsm game for a while now.

canI use 16g turbo with the translator without a tunning device.
