MAF-T + Dsmlink

I bought a 3in MAFT + MAF awhile back and I haven't had any luck with it. So I decided to spend the money on Dsmlink and a EPROM. I want to know what kind of problems I will run into? Do I have to set the MAFT to zero and just tune with Dsmlink? Or do I tune with the MAFT and log and then tune from there? Im really confused I downloaded the Dsmlink instruction do see what I was dealing with. Getting the Deadtime and Global for fuel doesn't look bad, but when it comes to the MAF settings and VE tables NO IDEA!!!
