I'm running short on cash and in a pickle now. I have a 98 GST 7 bolt stock with a SCM5031, 550cc injectors but also have 650cc injectors, 255lph fuel pump, aeromotive afpr, 3" turboback, fmic, greddy type-s, and probably some other things that I'm forgetting. Also along with an SAFC.

I stumped on tuning, I don't really want to spend 750 dollars on dsmlink, plus a few more hundred for a laptop so I can continue to tweak and save and monitor everything. I'm fwd so I really don't need all of the fancy smancy gadgits that DSMlink comes with, but I know that dsmlink is one HELL of a tuning piece.

But I was wondering if I could get a pretty solid tune out of the MAF-T/AFC combo that would be somewhat compareable to a dsmlink tune? Provided it being professionally tuned.

SAF-C, Wideband o2 sensor, and pocketlogger. But all that added together is about as much as DSM Link. You need to evaluate your goals for the car. If you're keeping the 550's, SAF-C should be fine. If you're planning any more than the 550's could handle, get DSM Link. You won't regret it. It's worth it's weight in gold.

Ugh I hate you guys hahahaha I've been trying to go to dsmchips.com and the website has always been down but then when I come here it works WTF!?!? Also What is the exact version number for a 2g for dsmlink? The code that is on the cd. My buddy has a v2 something that he said he'd let me have but doesn't have the cable. Is the cable just a serial cable?

So i guess i will just get the DSMlink and start from there... Since my car is a 1990, what am i gonna have to do to get a DSMlink?

get a 94 or below 1g eprom, unless your is already equiped with it im not sure what year youll be able to find them in. then send the eprom(ecu) to dsmlink and theyll hook it up for you. dsmlink.com tells you everything if you go visit the site
