Maf question

I just got a k&n cone filter and an adapter on my gsx eclipse. I was noticing on the Maf there is a screen right before the sensor and was wondering if this hurts the performance. Also if it is safe to remove this mesh type screen for performance reasons.

Do NOT remove this screen!
That honeycomb screen straightens out the airflow that the karman sensor reads. If it's not there, your airflow readings that the ecu sees will be skewed.

If you remove it; then make sure you get a MAP and IAT sensor, along with DSMlink V3 and go speed density.
