MAF question...im an idiot

I was looking at slowboyracing.com and seen there MAF kit. I know this might sound stupid, but what will that do for me? And whats the difference between that and the stock MAFS.

can you post a link?? I think your talking about a gm maft/maf sensor combo. This lets you eliminate your mass air flow meter and you can run just a pipe and a filter off the turbo. Then you can put the sensor in your intercooler piping near the throttlebody for better reading, you can vent your bov, and you can spool faster. Also, it can be used to tune. Hopefully this is what you were referring too and post me a link just to be sure.

if so that is the maf translator so you can run a blow through setup with a gm maf, also allows you sorta kinda tune your air/fuel mixture, and you can vent your bov

yeah, thats exactly what i seen. If i got that, i could put a straight filter on the turbo and hook the MAFT up to the intercooler piping right before the throttle body like kottyking said? And i can get rid of the recirculation on the BOV? Also, can i tune it with what comes in the kit, or do i need one of the computer aided programs? Thanks for all of the help guys, im just trying to learn as much as i can before i start modding my car.

Yes you can get rid of the recirculation tube and vent your BOV and yes, you can run a staight filter off the turbo. You can tune with it and it can compensate for larger injectors. These links should help you learn more.

By the way, If you bought that kit, you would still need a new upper intercooler pipe. To save money, you could get a GM MAF from a junkyard ($30-45) usually and buy the translator and couplers seperately for about $260.
