Lube behind bearing.

I pulled my thrust bearing while getting it aligned the other night I noticed a small amount of assembly lube on the back side of it. Now I was expecting some since there is a groove in the block and I was rotating the crank but there seems to be a little on either side. Is this something to be concerned about as far as spinning that bearing?

lube behind any of the bearings its nothing to worry about. They are held in place when the cap is torqued down and the two bearings hang over the edges enough to hold them into place.

Yea all you can do is put the bearings in the block/cap saddles as clean and dry as possible then put the assembly lube on the bearings surfaces and on the cranks sufaces before installing it in the block. There is no way to pervent some small amout of lube to get behind the bearing. Once the bearing is torqued it is tight aginst the block and cap so any small amout behind the bearings will be squiched out just keep it to a min.
