Hello to all.
Since the rear diffs in our AWD cars are LSD, should we be using friction modifiers with our differential fluid? My Jimmy is 2WD limited slip and GM wants friction modifiers mixed in the fluid when you change it. Your guidance is appreciated. I currently use RedLine heavy shockproof in my Xcase and rear end.

Redline Shockproof is great, no friction modifiers are necessary, as the center and rear LSD in the DSM uses a sealed, viscous coupler unit to lock the dif, vs Helical or clutch type differentials used in other vehicles.

Edit: crap, got beaten to the punch...

^^ Yes, on 1G's it was a little weird. Ive never seen a 90 AWD that didnt have an LSD in the rear, however, for the 91 model year, they offered the choice between either a rear LSD, or ABS, but not both- Im assuming this was because they couldnt get the crappy 1G ABS system to work with a rear LSD for some reason- but from 92- 94, they were offering both the LSD and ABS as options.
