Winnipeg,
Well i'am going too lower the talon 2 inches in the spring and i want it too drive good too. The suspension it has currently is actually really good. But anyways i was looking at coilovers and i know u can adjust the height of the car but it cost more $$ and you have too upgrade other things such as cambers and what not. Springs i personally think would be much cheaper and better becuase i just wanna lower it i don't care about adjusting... plus springs u don't really need too upgrade too much things. What will be the most best and cheapest way too lower my car and which is more reliable? :dsm: :talon:

you'll have to adjust your camber regardless of how you drop your car.. i lowered mine with only 2" springs, no adjustable coilover or anything... and i kept the stock shocks.. it works alright for what i do.. i would still only buy the springs if i were to do it again, just because it was cheaper and i just wanted to lower it for looks.. if i roadraced the car then it would have been much more of a priority to spend some time with the suspension..

true... true... doesnt matter if you use coil overs or springs your going to have to buy camber kits anytime you start lowering your car and also have it aligned to save your tires from premature tire wear. you have to watch it some of the coil overs dont fit stock struts and using lowering springs on stock struts dont respond so well cause the strut bottoms out and doesnt allow it to travel thats why they have koni, kyb, tokiko to fix this problem, yes putting springs and using stock struts is the cheapest way to go but i figure if your going to do something you might as well do it right so you dont have to go over it again just trying to save you some time and money in the future :thumb:

true so what would i need if i was going too put springs on the car too make it ride good becuase i'am just doing it for looks. I know i will need a camber kit anything else too make it ride good. So i'am guessing springs are cheaper and better way too go?

thats it

i never really lowered a car with springs.. is it hard and is it hard intalling camber kits on talons?

your going to have to take it to a shop to have them installed because the strut is compressed with a lot of pressure if you take that bolt off the strut with out compressing the spring somebody is going to get hurt so unless you have a store there that sells or lets you borrow a spring compressor you will have to take it to a shop.

aight koo thanks man. do you know how much normally a shop would charge too put my springs and do my camber kit?

dont take it to a shop to install new springs.. it isnt hard to do yourself.. go to a shucks or autozone and rent a spring compressor for a macpherson strut.. then when youre doing the camber kit you will need a balljoint separator for the front end.. i bought my camber kit online and installed it myself and just drove it over to ol' lesshaubs to have them align it.. although if you have an "alignment specialists" in your area i recommend going there... it probably is necessary to take your car to someone else to have it aligned... just because of the measuring equipment they have, not that the adjustments are hard to do

okay well ima try it out in this upcoming spring and i will let you guys know how it turns out. ROFL :talon: The lean makes so much difference :thumb:

I have a set of Coil Overs I wanna sell for really cheap like 50 bucks. I had them on my car for 2 weeks. It was really low and handled like a ferrari. But The roads around here are so damn rough. So i took them back off. But I wanna get rid of them. Their a big drop too.

do you know how much it would cost if i did go too a shop too do it? just wondering.... BTw pm me about those coilovers i might be interested. :thumb:

3-4 hours of labor, depending on the shape of your bolts, brackets, etc. Rust and things that break are common working in the wheel wells.
