I have a 2g with upper hard piping and I' am currently running a stock smic and I was wondering if upgrading the soft lower intercooler pipe with a hard pipe would be worth while? Would replacing it make any difference? thanks

If you're currently using the stock T25, then the LICP probably isn't worth replacing, since if you upgrade turbos to anything other than a T28 or a turbo with a passenger-side-facing elbow welded onto it, you'll have to change LICP shapes anyway. Example: A 14b/16g/18g all use J-pipes, so a hard S-pipe wouldn't be of any use. Most other turbos are downfiring, so an S-pipe is again not useful. And if you ever upgrade to a FMIC, you may have to completely re-do your piping again.

The only time I would upgrade to hard pipe is if the stock hose was the source of a boost leak.

If you're upgrading to a Big T28 or something like that, then I would say knock yourself out. If you're planning on a different kind of turbo, I'd have to agree with MrBoxx...Don't waste your money on something that will be replaced anyways.

yes I already have a big t-28, i do not plan on upgrading the turbo anytime soon. I was just wondering if the licp would do anything besides take money out of my wallet. They seem very inexpensive so if thye make any kind of difference I was thinking about purchasing one for the time being. I heard someone say before they make the turbo spool better and louder? maybe ill just save the money and wait....
