ok, I'm currently working on a 90 gsx project that I purchased awhile ago. After putting everything together I took it out for a test drive. I had my idle set to 900rpm(properly done by grounding the 2 things stated in vfaq). I took it out for a test drive and noticed that the car feels like it doesnt get any power/hesitates to about 4krpm. After the test drive I noticed that the idle dropped down to about 550-650rpm. I then tried to set the idle back to 900 but this time the idle didnt go to high. Even with the biss screw almost out the idle was about 750. Anybody have this problem before or know what it can possibly be?

Id try adjusting the cas first. If that doesnt fix your problem, then check base timing and make sure it is dead on. I had a similar problem when one of my cars was one tooth off.

what exactly was your car doing? i already tried ignition timing but that didnt help. i recently just did my valve timing and almost 100% sure that it's correct, i'll recheck anyways.

I have done one. I hear air seeping out from the intake manifold area.

that maybe your problem. get a 5 dollar intake manifold gasket and replace it then come back and report your findings. (I'm assuming its your intake manifold gasket, it could be other things like the injector seals etc.)
