I have a 93 GS 2.0 N/T....I just did the whole cut you air canister thing and since then my idle "only when warmed up after 15-30 minutes" does a sputter. It also does this at low rpm or barely touching the gas...it kinda falls on its face for a sec and then it is ok. but it only does this when I am barely on the gas or not on the gas. Under normal driving it is fine...no hesitation at all.no power loss no smoke no oil leaks no nothing...I am scratching my head and wondering if I prob should of left the can alone because it was fine until I caut the bottom off it...the pipe, filter and sesor with housing is still intact. Any ideas would help alot.

Cutting the air canister open shouldn't affect the idle on your car. All I can suggest is that you check to make sure you put everything back together correctly when re-installing the air canister. Make sure you re-connected all the air hoses and what not. Did you do any mods to the MAS at all?

Yes, I double checked everything. I just received my short intake from ebay and installed it last night to replace my nasty old rubber one and the problem so far has fixed itself.? I don't know how or why, because the new intake tube doesn't have the greatest fit, compaerd to the old ruber one. The sputter has so far gone away, but I will keep you all posted on things to come. I'm going to take it out today for a 50 + mile trip and see how she goes. Thanks for the replies.

Oh , and no mods to the MAS ...I just took it off and re-installed...like 6 times. I thought I might have done something wrong, but now with the NEW intake tube the problem is gone...for now. I hope it stays away. Thanks again for the responses.

Hey I've been to REGINA many a time...I was seeing a girl in Med Hat. ..I lived in Minnesota at the time. What a drive, especially in the winter. Me and the number one were inseperable. Many a mile done out there.
