Ok i change my oil today and now when i start the car the oil pressure will be fine until i drive around for a while then the pressure will become low. What is causing this??

oh man, this happened to me and some times at idle the light will come on :( the needle barely lifts off the zero line :( not sure whats going on just know that the light doesn't come on while driving. this is just after i got my motor back in after over hauling it and then the tranny went out so it sat for a day or two then i drove it down to the shop to put the new one in and now low press. and idiot light on.

yes the oil pump was replaced after the low oil happened and still the same out put low oil and dummy light on, i'm going by factory gauge :( , and i'm running 10W 30 royal purple with i quart lucas oil stabilizer. also the sensor for the light has been replaced on mine and so has the big sending unit piece on the far back side with one wire lead off of it.

Well i am running the same oil 10w30 and im going by the factory gauge. THe thing is is that the oil pressue is good until it runs about ten min then goes down.

Try to get an aftermarket oil pressure gauge. You want to read 5 psi at idle, you don't want to go any lower than that. My stock oil pressure gauge started to crap out and no longer reads at all. I installed a mechanical oil pressure gauge and it works fine.

personally i think its the sensor, but you should get a gauge of some kind thats accurate. If not try and run some thicker oil. ive always run 10w40 on a turbo car
