Right now I'm sitting on Ground Control Coils with Tokico Illumina shocks. The rear shocks are bad now and I'm looking to replace them, but I'm not sure with what.

Ideally I'd like to my car to be low and still ride decent. I'm not looking for an all out suspension setup either. I daily the car, don't really care much to blast through the twisties and I only go the drag strip maybe twice a year. I do plan to get a RM sway bar in the future too to tighten everything up, but that is the extent of my suspension mod desires.

Is there a shock that will work best for me?

Nobody has anything?

I guess I'll ask another question. I've read that in order to use Koni Yellows with the Ground Control kit you have to have the kit that is specific to the Koni's. Is this true or could I order the Koni Yellows, take the spring mounts off my Tokico Illuminas and put those on the the Yellows?

Yes, you need the GC's that were meant for Konis to run them. I don't think yours will work.

And why not replace the Illuminas with more Illuminas? Unless you are going to shell out for more GC's and Konis, you're already running the next best thing. Take advantage of your lifetime warranty.

I don't have a problem replacing the shocks with Illuminas again, I was just curious to see if there was a better option out there for me. Ideally, I'd like to have as smooth a ride as possible (no bouncing) and maintain the low ride height. Handling performance is low on my list.

Since I bought my suspension used, I probably won't be able to get them replaced under a warranty. I'll check out their site and see what it says and go from there I guess.

Alright, I'll work off of that. I know mine are bouncy now cause they are flat out blown.

Tokico have a lifetime warranty on there shocks. If your the original owner, then they will cover it.

I can only speak for my tokicos, I love them, not to bouncy and quickly settle themselves after a rough patch in the road or bump.

I'm definitely not the original owner.

I'm hoping that the new shocks will also stop the car from darting when it compresses a lot. I've already replaced the bushings in the rear, but something gets goofy with the toe settings under heavy compression that makes the back of the car wiggle around.
