Any of you 2g guys able to run low 14's with t-25 and minimal mods on pump gas?

Motortrend tested a '95 GST A/T and got 15.5 sec @ 90.3 mph so I do believe high/mid 14's with boost turned up to 15 lbs and free/cheap mods is possible but what about low 14's?

im not to sure, i have a 97 GS-T and i ran 15.1 with only an intake and whatever the stock boost is

With a boost controller and good tires, I have seen many GSXs hit high 13's. Also, its MUCH harder to launch a stock auto car, especially a GST.

Launching definitely takes a knack to get 100% with an A/T, and makes or breaks a car's time in the quarter. Think of it, if you waste the first 60', 100', or even 330' bogging or spinning tires, you're not accelerating the vehicle at its' full potential.

I've always said, and been a fan of, this simple quote:

"The best modification you can perform to your car, is seat time."

I would imagine, if Motor Trend can get a GST into the mid-15s, then high 14s can be had with tires, and driver skill. Free mods only push that further. Weight reduction would be the best possible "free mod" you can perform, as the less weight acting against the car's movement, the better / more "free" the car is to move - that means accelerating, braking, and cornering.

I'd focus less on what can be done for cheap, and more on what can be done to most maximize the potential of the car. Of course, there are always sacrifices, but as with all "free" things in life, you get what you pay for.

All that being said ... gut it, boost the ish out of it, and hope it holds together. :thumb:

full tank of gas/ 200lb sub box with subs. open cone k&n filter, bcs mod. i ran a fairly slow 15.9....also had transmition slip issues.... would love to try it again. (when i get the trany rebuilt "propperly" by real mechanics for the 3rd time.)
