loud ticking when i first start car

just recently i noticed when my car sits overnight and i start it the next day i have a very loud ticking from the head. i understand it could be a lifter tick, but it miraculously goes away within the first minute. it does not fade away or anything just instantly stops and does not happen again. what do you guys think could cause this? is it a injector or lifter?

Sounds like lifter tick. Or lash adjuster tick. whatever you want to call it.

but it lasts about a minute then bam its gone. could too much oil have an effect?

one of the HLA is bleeding down over night , and when you start it in the morning and it gets hit with oil pressure it pumps right back up where it needs be.

to find it.. pop youe VC off before you start the car one morn.. and press down on the HLA till you find the soft one

i agree with BogusSVO. i did exactly that and fixed my ticking problem

Also high oil pressure can make them tick as well. I put in the 3g lifters and they tick a little until my initial start up oil pressure drops to 60psi. shouldnt be anything to worry about.
