On Friday I picked my car up from the body shop because it was getting the hood and bumper repaired and painted. Well I get there and start my car up and instantly here the worst lifter tick I have ever heard. It was extremely loud. I looked at the guy and said it wasn't making this noise when I brought it in and he pretty much shrugged his shoulders and didn't know anything. I just said what ever and drove it home but as I was leaving I couldn't even get up a slight hill flooring it in first gear and it eventually just shut off. After cranking it a few times I got it to start and managed to get home.
Once I was home I checked out my car and saw overspray on my intercooler and I had paint and bondo dust all throughout my engine bay. So that made me even more aggravated but back to the problem. I changed my oil seeing if it would solve the problem and it didn't. I let it run for a while and then it got louder and eventually died. The next day I did a compression test and only cylinder 2 was showing around 130 and the rest had like 10 psi.
Any ideas on what could have happened? Could my lifters miraculously lock up and cause the valves to bend? Sorry for the story but any help is appreciated.
