To start off, my problem is that both my A/C fan(front of radiator), and slimline fan(passenger side) are on AT ALL TIMES THE KEY IS ON. The galant may be a tad different as far as wiring goes. My questions and problems are on the GVR4.

The SLIMLINE fan is wired, blue to blue, black to black, same as factory so Im not sure why its constantly on. the coolant sensor beneath the fan on the passenger side reads OL on all settings on my DVOM, so does my GSX. I am getting +BATv at the harness on both cars.

The A/C fan is hooked up like stock and runs all of the time as well. The a/c sensor on the T-stat housing reads full continuity=no resistance on both cars. I also am not getting a voltage reading at the sensor and neither is the GSX, however the GSX fan turns on at operating temp whereas the vr4 fans are on constantly.

I am completely stumped here. I have quadruple checked the wiring and relays, I do not understand why with the same readings for both the vr4 and GSX the vr4 is constant and the GSX comes on at operating temp.

Can someone please check the resistance of both the fan coolant sensor and a/c coolant sensor, what voltage they are seeing at the A/C switch in the thermostat or point me to where I may find these specification.

Ok im going to ask something that you may have stated. Are both fan hook up with the stock wire harness if so. you have a blue wire and a black wire going to the fans and then you have the green and black wire going to the sensor on the bottom of the radiator. That the colors of mine in a 90 gsx my be different colors but same concept.

If it all hooked up right in your mind you may just have a bad relay it's a fail safe mod when they go out to stay on. So check the wires then if that all in line check the relay and just switch with a other relay to test it. hope it help it so hard to tell how you have it hooked up cause i have the same set up and had the fans set up to run all the time, that got old really fast when i was work on electrical stuff so i switch it to the sensor and works fine

EDIT: FINALLY they work, I appreciate all the help. I traced the wire #2 from the HI relay and found it was bolted to the - terminal at the battery. I cut the + wire that was going to the thermo sensor in the radiator and connected it to #2 thus converting the thermo sensor from a + switch to a - switch. The A/C fan must be hardwired somewhere into the regular fan wiring because it operates in conjunction with the slimline which is fine by me, as long as I can enter closed loop Im happy.
