Here's the deal. I was driving down from Illinois to New Mexico last month, and after about 3 or 4 hours of 80+ highway driving, I would need to exit for gas. That's when I noticed the clutch pedal had no pressure, and the car would not want to go into gear. I would struggle thru the gears, get back onto the highway, and drive some more. Stop for gas again, same deal. I stopped for the night, and when I came out in the morning it was fine. Drive for 3 or 4 hours, back to the problem. Now I've been down here for a few weeks, and haven't had the problem resurface.I don't drive it more than an hour at a time, but I have not seen the problem again. I am getting my tax return soon, and I would like to spend the money on a fuel system upgrade, not a clutch replacement. But I don't want my clutch blowing out on me two weeks after I spend my money, you know?
As far as I know, it is a stock clutch, 117k miles, and regardless of temperature 4th gear is iffy. Clutch fluid is fine, and the car isn't leaking enough to leave puddles anywhere. This only happened after extended periods of driving. Mods are in my profile. Any suggestions?
