losing oil, no smoke no leak. also bad turbo?

i have searched around and just cant figure it out.

14b turbo, 1g.

my car made a wierd noise when revved ar driven, which i just found out is the ps pump i believe i thought it was my turbo, so i checked it for play. has more than a lil bit of play, and at the time, i had to actually put pressure on the fins to spin it, like it wasnt moving freely. today the noise got worse and i thought my turbo was gonna go so i let her cool down and checked it again. spins alot easier again for some reason! im stumped.

and my car will lose like a quart of oil every 2 weeks, even tho my car isnt smoking, and theres no leaks! please help! need to know asaap

Take off the o2 housing and downpipe and check to see if oil has accumulated on the exhaust side of the turbo. Sometimes those old 14b's can leak a tad in there and you'll never know it.

You could just do a leakdown test also. This will narrow it down.

my gf's gsx is having the same issue...and we just havent had the money to fix it just yet...check the flex plate behind the rear blade on the turbo...if its bulged or cracked it will cause restriction on the blades and will cause a loud almost dentist drill sound when under boost!

if you have shaft play chances are the sound your hearing is the blades hitting the compressor housing and the restriction is ###### the blades wedging on the flex plate
