looking to buy an AWD DSM, need some help.

i want to sell my Laser and try to find either a 1G or 2G AWD model. I have read that the best ones are the 6-bolt engines, not the 7-bolt. I need to know how to tell the difference between the two, are there engine tags or anything which tell you what the engine is? As well, I also read before that the rear diff.'s are different as well, is that true and what is the best one? I want to try and find the best car possible.

that takes care of the 6-7bolt thing...As far as the diffs go I know the 4-bolt is stronger.. and I believe (correct me if I am wrong) the 4-bolts came in the 92.5s to the 94s.. they swithced half way, or so, through the 92 year hence the 92.5..im sure someone else can elaborate more.. this site explains some differences between the years for you

its is possible to put a 91 engine into a 95 right? i mean... i thinks its illegal to put a older enigne into a newer car...but whos gonna know right?
